Challenged for time, or want to 'try us out' before making a commitment?
Joining Rotary carries a commitment to dedicate some time to the Club’s regular meetings and activities and we recognise that some people may not feel they can make a full commitment from the outset.
Work or family schedules may prevent regular attendance at our meetings. Others may not be ready to jump fully into Rotary, but want to learn and experience more before making the decision. For these reasons the Club offers Associate Membership.
What is Associate Membership?
Associate Members enjoy all the benefits of being a Rotarian, but without the full commitment.
You will be encouraged to participate in club meetings, community service opportunities, social events and club visits. You will have the opportunity of joining a club committee, and become involved with our community work and fundraising activities. You will also be allowed to wear a Rotary badge as an Associate Member. The main difference is Associate Members are not be able vote on any club matters.
What commitment is required?
Associate members should aim to attend at least one event per month. These include weekly club meetings on a Monday evening, social events, fundraising events and committee meetings. The more you attend the quicker you will get to know how the club works.
What does it cost?
Associate membership costs £25 per year plus any meal costs at events you attend. Should you become a full member the £25 will be offset against the cost of full membership.
