Faversham is a town growing in size and diversity and with that comes an increase of areas needing extra special support.
The Faversham Community Chest was created to help those organisations and individuals in Faversham who find themselves at a disadvantage, requiring funding to help them avoid further hardship or improve their service delivery to their beneficiaries.
The Community Chest has been set up and is managed by the Rotary Club of Faversham under its trust fund which is a registered charity and has been in existence in Faversham for over 75 years. It is part of the worldwide Rotary International organisation which exists to provide service to others. We support many local causes and enjoy making a positive difference to people’s lives locally and around the world.
What can the Faversham Community Chest do for you?
The Community Chest fund exists exclusively for not-for-profit organisations or individuals based in Faversham. You may be a Charity, School, Church etc., or an individual who can demonstrate a critical need for funding.
How much funding is available?
The maximum grant allowed will be £300 per organisation/individual. Only one application per organisation/individual can be submitted. Organisations/individuals who receive funding or are declined will need to wait at least 12 months before making a further funding application.
What is the process for making an application?
To be considered for funding you must complete a funding application form and send it via email to the address on the form:
How are applications handled and how long will it be before you hear back?
We understand that your need is likely to be urgent and we have set up a process that is as simple as possible, allowing us to respond quickly.
All applications will be received by a dedicated Community Chest assessor. We aim to respond generally by a phone call within 5 working days and often much quicker. We may need to ask a few questions so we fully understand the nature of your request. If you are successful, we will arrange the grant to be paid in to a bank account under the name of your organisation or the named individual benefitting from the grant.
What happens after you receive the money?
When you have received the grant and used it, we may ask to see receipts/proof that the money was used for the purpose outlined on the application. We would also expect to hear from you on the impact the money had on your organisation or yourself.
