The Club celebrated Christmas with an evening at the Red Lion, Hernhill. Forty members and friends enjoyed a delicious meal in the relaxed party atmosphere. A light-hearted Christmas quiz gave everyone something to think about. Could you name the original eight reindeer in the poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’?

We also celebrated Jim Young’s 30th anniversary as a Club member. President Duncan Holliday presented Jim (without the Christmas hat) with his certificate, marking  30 years of support for Rotary.

Congratulations Jim!

Scatter Week

Posted by: Earle Smith - Mon, 07/11/2016 - 1:27pm

For the first time in a number of years some of us participated in a 'scatter week'. The clubs visited were Whitstable, Herne Bay and Minster-on-Sea and we were all made to feel very welcome by our hosts. Invitations were extended to each club to return the visits and hopefully they will be taken up. Apart from the fellowship enjoyed on such visits it always interesting to see how other clubs function. Ruth and I went to Minster and thoroughly enjoyed it and our club has been extended an invitation to go out on a lifeboat if we wish!

Now that we have revived 'scatter week' maybe we can do it more often.
